Recurring Events and Announcements:

  • ACM’s second Web Development Career Pathway is recurring this week on Thursday from 2-4pm at WCH 135! This is a quarter-long weekly workshop that focuses on Ruby on Rails, this is geared toward students who have passed CS12. Workshop will be lead by Kyle Minshall. Those who are interested please join the FB group pagehere!, all future updates regarding the workshop will be posted there!

  • Citrus Hack Ready for this? Registration ends for non-UCR students on October 16th, 2015 and November 2nd, 2015 for UCR students to register for the Inland Empire’s Premier Hackathon! Head on over to Citrus Hack to apply before it is too late! Let your friends know so your entire team can come!

  • ICPC Training! on Mondays from 5-6 PM at WCH127! More information on ACM Facebook group!

  • Hack Nights! Wednesdays from 6-8 PM at the ACM CLUBROOM! Come work on your projects and assignments with other students!

  • HIKE TO THE C! ACM and SWE will be hosting a Hike to the C social on Saturday Oct 17th! We will meet in front of Goodwin’s Organics at 5:00 pm and the hike begins at 5:30 pm.

  • Student/Faculty Feedback Session from 12PM - 1PM at BRNHL A265 Do you have a really cool idea you want to pitch to BCOE Staff? Do you think something needs to be brought to their attention?   • ACM Scholarship Application DEADLINE: MAY 29TH!! at Midnight In memory of Peng Wang, a valued ACM member. Scholarship consists of $150. To be considered, submit your resume and an essay with a minimum of 200 words explaining why you deserve this award. Things we are looking for would include your contributions to the organization/school and what you would do with the award. Deadline is Friday May 29th at midnight, and all materials must be sent to acm.at.ucr@gmail.com with subject ‘ACM Scholarship - (your name)’.

NOTE: This award is open only to currently active ACM members.In memory of Peng Wang, a valued ACM member.

Saturday: 4/11/15

  • Hour of Code Volunteer from 8AM - 12PM at Mira Loma Middle School 30-90 students will be in attendance, each will have a laptop. Our volunteers would help students through the exercises on http://code.org/learn. Volunteers will meet at 7:30am at the Bourns Bus Stop. Rides will be provided to those who needs it. Officer Elections and Upcoming Events

Just recently, we had our HackerRank Codesprint event! Thank you for participating! Also, if you haven’t seen our slides yet from our third general meeting, then check them out here! Also, we will be having our fourth general meeting, which we will be holding our officer elections at this time!

Pick in mind who you believe would be suited to be one of the following outstanding leaders in the form. Remember, each and every position is vital for making ACM grow into a professional and welcoming club. Each position requires your time commitment for each week. If you wish to know more in depth about these time commitments, then check out the officers webpage and send us an email if you want to know more.

Those who have been nominated will receive an email by Friday, 2/13/15,11:59PM. There will be subsequent updates for those who are nominated. On the day of elections, you can choose to nominate yourself.
